Here we have an Ikari Warriors
kit (non Jamma) in a Mad Planets (Qbert
style) cabinet.
I got this
game non-working for $50 and that was a
generous price. Needless to say I put a bit
more than that into it during the
restoration. My goal was to have a nice
Ikari Warriors that can support other games
in the future. I think it turned out pretty
good. I have been thinking about selling it
but since putting this page together I am
having second thoughts. :-)
The inside of the game has been thoroughly
cleaned. The sides have been re-covered with
new adhesive-backed vinyl. The front and
back of the game have been repaired where
needed and repainted. The control panel is
also new and completely custom with brand
new original SNK LS-30 rotary joysticks.
Additional buttons have been added (not
wired) for potentially installing other
vertical-style games in the cabinet later
down the line. A list of the work done is
below.
- New Happ Controls Over/Under Coin Door
Assembly
- New Coin Mechanisms Included
- New T-Molding
- Completely Custom Control Panel
- New SNK LS-30 Rotary Joysticks
- New Push Buttons (up to 6 per player,
two are currently blank)
- Plexiglass Protective Cover
- Fully Rebuilt/Custom Power Supply Assembly
/w Switcher
- New Flyback Transformer Installed in the
19” Electrohome G07-CBO
- New Fluorescent Marquee Light
- New Maintenance Switches/Bracket Installed
- New Rear Door Lock
The monitor (Electrohome G07-CBO) is
original and un-restored. It is the weakest
link in this game. I have replaced the
flyback and some of the caps but I
have noticed that occasionally (it has only
happened once so far) the color has started
to fade at the sides. A full cap kit might
bring the color back to perfect all the time
but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Currently the new coin door is in my Star
Wars and the switcher is in my Frogger so I
have a little more work to do to get it back from
its current cannibalized state.
